“Alabama is home to some of the hardest working people in the world.? Our workers deserve to be treated fairly and if they are unfortunate enough to be injured on the job, they deserve fair treatment under the workers’ compensation law. Alabama was recently named the number one state in the nation for business. Unfortunately, all too often when workers are injured at work, they are faced with an uphill battle against a complicated and confusing system.”

What is Workers’ Compensation?
Workers’ compensation is a creation of the Alabama legislature to provide certain benefits to injured workers for job-related injuries. When a worker is injured on the job and qualifies for workers’ compensation benefits the workers’ compensation law almost always provides the exclusive remedy. In addition, the employer is almost always given immunity from claims other than workers’ compensation claims. Sometimes, an injured worker will be able to bring other claims in addition to workers’ compensation claims. Let me provide you with a free, no obligation evaluation of the facts of your situation and give you a legal opinion about your case.
A little more about me:
I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications and my law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. During my college years, I attended a semester at Capernwray Bible School in Carnforth, Lancashire, England. Between college and law school, I was honored to serve on active duty in the United States Army as a field artillery officer and later as an Army lawyer in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps with the Alabama Army National Guard.
I am licensed to practice law in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and the District of Columbia.
I love to travel. I’ve been to all 50 states and 24 countries and 23 Major League Baseball parks. My bucket list is to catch a game at all 30 Major League Baseball parks and to set foot on all seven continents (I only lack Australia and Antarctica).
On a personal note, I have an amazing wife and four incredible children and one beautiful granddaughter (Yes – being a grandparent is everything they said it would be and more!)
I have served as the president of the Alabama State Bar Workers’ Compensation Section and the Alabama Association for Justice Workers’ Compensation Section.
Since 1994, I have worked to bring justice to injured workers. I had represented clients in most of Alabama‘s 67 counties and I have handled hundreds if not thousands of workers’ compensation cases. I have NEVER represented employers OR their insurance carriers in these cases and I will never will. To further help you, I have authored The Injured Worker’s Survival Guide which includes The Five Mistakes That Can Wreck Your Workers’ Compensation Case.
“Almost every case presents unique issues and I work hard to make sure the issues are developed and presented in a way that is most favorable to the injured worker.”
